Story
Hi all,
Many women are having to make a choice between food or a tampon, we live in the UK and it's an embarrassment that this is happening. It's bad enough wanting to rip your colleagues face off once a month and wolfing down 6 packs of Mars Bars, imagine the panic and humiliation that comes from having to use a copy of Metro to 'absorb your flow'.
Today I hit up the pound shop for some snacks before going to see I, Daniel Blake and noticed they have Always and Tampax galore. That, coupled with the timely viewing of a genuinely incredible film have kicked my butt into gear.
Please help me by raising as much as possible so I can raid the pound shops on our behalf and do drops at some Islington food banks. Even £1 will help hugely. If you wan't to read this- http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/for-homeless-women-having-a-period-isnt-just-a-hassle-its-a-nightmare-124 it's a good place to start on why this is so important.
As the great Muhammed Ali said 'Your service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.' The tories ain't gonna get us out of this, it's up to us for now.
Just incase anyone thinks I'm some random criminal I'll be posting photos and receipts. Anyone who wants to help please drop me a message!
Thanks,
Rebecca
