Story

How it all Started

Since June 2010 I have been paralysed from the rib cage downwards after breaking my neck in a near death experience. After losing all my muscle being incapacitated for 3 months. I finally came out of hospital, I needed to rebuild what muscle I could and start to get fit again to help improve my quality of life.

Wheelchair rugby is originally a sport played by tetraplegics and my local team were good enough to let me join their training sessions. This helped get me fit, increase my confidence and gain a social group.

Since then I joined the team and played division one rugby for 5 years, now I enjoy playing in division two with a new team in the GBWR league .

How You Can Help

The cost of playing disability sport is expensive, the average cost of the equipment is £5500 - £6000. That doesn't include the upkeep of the sports equipment, attending competitions and travel costs I incur each month. I need your help to buy a new rugby chair as mine is tired, twisted frame and constantly repairing the worn out rugby chair.

With your help I will raise £5,500 to buy a new rugby chair so I can keep involved in the sport I have come to love. It gives me a life to meet new people, keep fit and active. This improves the quality of my life and is a positive influence.

I will be applying for grants and funding to help achieve my goal, but these charity's are overstretched and under funded. Which is why I need your help as well.
