What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is the new way to raise money for a personal cause on JustGiving.

We have now reached 3 mths of the MEMMAT treatment that all you lovely people are paying for. It has been an incredibly nervous time for us - not know whether MEMMAT would work for Ollie, but time was running out for him if it wasn't.

With conventional treatment, he would now only have had a few weeks left to live. So last week Ollie had a thorough MRI scan to decide whether we were on the right track. If the tumours were still growing, then we would have to try something else & there is very little else to try.

We had a nervous 5 days while the results were discussed by Ollie's medical team, but I am thrilled to say that the scan was good. There has been improvement on his spine and back of his brain and the other areas are stable. This is the BEST result we could hope for at this stage & confirms what our eyes are telling us: Ollie is getting better.

I must temper this news with the reality that cancer is a swine and can fight back. This is a long battle and it's far from won, but right now we are winning.

This wouldn't be happening without your love, support & generosity. Thank you. x

We are raising £440,000 to help save Ollie's life. We have raised an amazing £350,000. We now need a further £90,000. Please help us.

We continue to be amazed & humbled by everyone's incredible generosity and kindness. Thank you so much. We will be forever grateful to you. xx

We are fund raising to pay for life-saving treatment for Ollie. He is 12 year old and has relapsed brain and spine cancer which cannot be treated on the NHS. He has been through 4 operations, 10 cycles of chemotherapy and 34 sessions of radiotherapy. We are not going to give up now!

The treatment, known as "The Vienna protocol" or "MEMMAT" is the only credible treatment for Ollie. He needs two years of this treatment which will cost £440,000.

Ollie is so loved. Please help us save him.

2wks ago Ollie took a downward turn. He’d started a new drug & it hit him hard. By the weekend we had had to reduce one of his other drugs to reduce symptoms, so we were really worried about what was happening. Then suddenly last Monday he woke up as right as rain. The tiredness was gone & his smile returned. The rollercoaster of this disease continues to leave our nerves in tatters, but Ollie just carries on as though all this is normal. So now life goes on as usual! Thankyou for your support. x

Another week down & what a week! Only 2 visits to hospital, so Ollie was able to return to school. It's lovely to see the effect of being back with his friends has on him, though he was getting strangely stressed about homework, despite us emphasising that we have bigger things to worry about right now! We have only 1 scheduled day in London this week, with 2 injections costing over £2k each! The medical bills keep rolling in. It gets a bit scary, but knowing we have the support of so many incredible people keeps us from panicking! Thank you xx

We have now completed week 2 of the MEMMAT treatment & although it's way too early to say if it's working, Ollie is taking it really well. He's swallowing pills large in both size & number without any complaint & maintaining his smile & sense of humour. This week will be be the first where we have 5 intrathecal (into the brain) injections in a row; which means travelling into London very early every day to be in the operating theatre for 8:30. We wouldn't be doing this without your help, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We were made aware of your plight by OMW and I understand they are also doing what they can to help. Good Luck & we hope you come out the other side of this as soon as possible.
