    Story

We all know how hard Covid-19 has hit everyone, and I am keenly aware that we are all being asked to lend our financial support to many, many very worthwhile causes.

There are two causes very close to my heart which I am raising funds for and I would humbly like to ask for your support.

Since March, just like pretty much all touring musicians and performers I have not been able to work and so I am keenly aware of the difficulties that theatres and venues are suffering and similarly of the many, many musicians who are in dire financial trouble.

Therefore I am hosting a 24 hour rocknrollathon at the Cheltenham Playhouse Theatre starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday 16 September to raise funds for both the Cheltenham Playhouse and Help Musicians UK (formerly the Musicians Benevolent Fund).

My goal is to raise £10,000 to be split evenly between the two causes and to do this I shall be inviting my rock n roll musician friends to join me on the Playhouse stage to keep the music going for 24 hours. We plan to film and stream the performance and there will be the opportunity for small numbers to join us in the theatre and watch live (socially distanced of course).

If you would like to support and sponsor me in this event I would be so appreciative ....... but support doesn't have to be financial, so if you can help on the day (or night) then that would be great too!

Here on JustGiving we secured just over £5k, I am delighted to say that with the ticket sales on the door, some charity cheques that I have been given and some other donations we have made just over £9k! Which I will be distributing forthwith. Thank you so much and keep supporting the arts!!!! Very best Peter

Dear All Thank you so very much for your support with this event and to these causes. I will be closing this page next Wednesday but wanted you to know that along with ticket sales and cheques going directly to the charities, we are very much nearing our goal. Without you this could not have been done. Thank you, and please keep supporting live music and the venues that promote it. Very best wishes Peter

Missed it - but well done; we love the Playhouse and don't think it should be treated as the "poor relation" of the Everyman; it's unique and special - most of all for long-standing "Cheltenhamites".
