Story
I have now lost nearly 3 stone in weight. However, I remain very very unfit!
I have just signed up to a 90 day challenge and although this might not seem much for some it’s a massive challenge for me as on the 8th December I plan to do a 5K Park run.
Its hard to admit but at the moment I can’t remember the last time I ran outdoors!
As of today, on a treadmill in the gym I can’t run for more than a minute without slowing down to a walk. Gout problems in the past and bad knees combined with a shortness of breath all combine to make running a difficult task for me.
I have 90 days to train for this, 90 days for a 40 year old fatty to build up enough fitness and stamina to literally go from couch to 5k.
I want to make myself accountable, I am determined to complete this challenge not only for the satisfaction of doing a 5K but to be able to go running with my kids as they grow up and set a good example to them.
I know money is tight for everyone and its not like I am running a marathon, climbing a mountain or throwing myself out of a plane, but this challenge is huge for me so I have also decided to ask for sponsorship, as many of you know I am involved with the one house community centre in Aspull which has just been set up and in need of funds to continue the work it is doing and enable us to offer more services, would any of my friends and family be willing to sponsor me?
Even if you do not not know me , or care about my run this is a great way of donating much needed funds to the One House Community Centre
