Sainsburys are looking to convert The Plough into a convenience store even though local residents obtained Asset of Community Value status for the pub. Sainsburys think they can ride roughshod over local democracy.

The Plough in Sandygate, Sheffield is a pub with a 400 year history. It stands opposite the oldest football ground in the world, the home of Hallam FC. A past landlord of the Plough founded Hallam cricket club in 1804. The football and cricket grounds fall with the Plough's Property Title. This pub is directly linked to this sporting history but Sainsburys wants to wipe away this heritage with a convenience store!

The local community is campaigning to protect the Plough and the sporting history it is part of.
