    Story

In the picture I am with my mum who I was the long term carer for. Sadly after decreasing health she went into hospital on April 8th 2016, 3 hospitals later she had all medical care stepped down and only palliative care to remain and she was fast tracked home so she could die at home. She hated being in hospital and even the thought of going there scared her but on May 12th she was discharged home and spent the next six weeks on a hospital bed in my living room and on an oxygen supply. After a little respite and slight improvement she gradually went downhill and died on 28th June 2016. I went through some really dark times during the stay hospital and watching her decline at home. She died peacefully and my final act for her was to clean her up ready for the undertakers to take her. That was a surreal moment seeing her put in a body bag. What happened next was partly my own stupidity and some outright dishonest opportunism on someone's part. I was used to coping on my own, did everything for my mum without help, went to the funeral alone. Anyway, got to know a neighbour, a much younger girl whose life was a bit of a mess and in the vacuum that was left by my caring for my mum I decided to help her, gave me a purpose. 2 years later, all savings have gone, money she was supposed to repay she just won't. Refuses to talk to me but I have two signed agreements for money to be repaid. I've gone from having savings to being in debt, none of the debt is mine. I feel terrible for what I've done with what was both mine and my mum's savings, truly ashamed but need to put it right. I need £1000 to do a money claim online, the claim is for £20K, I have had no luck at 50 in trying to get back to work, don't even get an interview and it seems they look at my time as a full time carer as me being economically inactive rather than me working 24 hour shifts 7 days a week, I was her full time carer from September 2009 on a pittance. with no holiday. In fact when my mum went into hospital I didn't know what to do, it was the first time in many years I wasn't doing something for her when I first got up This is my reason, to attempt this as an option, I'm not 100% sure how it works but can only try and see if I can raise these funds. If I am successful with the claim the fees are part of the claim and I could repay those who have helped
