Paul’s life was tragically cut short on 14th March 2022 when he suffered a fatal heart attack whilst travelling home. Paul was a much loved husband to Sheree, Dad to Katrina and Tony, Father-in-Law, Grandad, friend and well respected member of his home village of Welney.
Paul was a former Welney Parish Councillor of Welney, a committee member of Marshall’s Charity and a founder member of Welney RUG the volunteer group who created Sandgate Meadow Park. Paul also fund raised the Welney defibrillator and was always first there when help was needed in the community. Paul almost single handed constructed the footpaths and raised beds in the Sensory Gardens.
Paul’s friends in Welney RUG agreed at their recent AGM to rename the Sensory Gardens the Paul Edmunds Sensory Gardens and also to raise funds for a memorial bench in Paul’s name. This to be sited in the Sensory Gardens or nearby.

Thank you all for your fantastic response and generous donations towards a memorial bench for Paul. We have already reached our original target of £1000 in just a few days and as the appeal has been so positive we have decided to increase the target to £1500. Welney RUG & friends will also be fund raising for Paul at the Queen’s Jubilee Fayre in Welney at the WMC on June 4th. If anyone can help me on the day, bake a cake, donate raffle prizes or plants for sale that will be much appreciated. When there is more news to share we will update again
