Story

There are more than 1.8 million vulnerable children in Malawi, almost 1 million of whom have lost one or both parents to AIDS. The Jacaranda Foundation School provides 480 of these children with an education and other forms of care: healthcare, nutritious meals and even some financial support to their families. Rosa and I are planning to help this amazing Foundation by volunteering at the school next February for a month, focusing on a reading project that involves us buying books locally with the money we raise to help boost the community's economy.

In November we will experience first hand what it is like for a Malawian school child by walking from our homes to our old school in Oxford and BACK, which is more than 30 miles! And we will only have one bowl of porridge that day just like the children who walk to school every day.

All donations are going towards the Reading Project and will be very much appreciated. Many thanks.
