Story
Some of you might remember that in the first lockdown, we worked with other local restaurants to deliver food to the amazing staff at Homerton Hospital. Now we’re in the middle of the second wave, they need hot food and support more than ever. So from Tuesday, we aim to deliver 100 vegetarian meals a week for 5 weeks. We know everyone’s feeling the effects of the lockdown, but if you can spare any cash or even share this post to help us spread the word, we’d really appreciate donations to increase this to 200 meals a week. We reckon it’ll cost about £3 a meal to cover ingredients and pay staff who are giving up their time to help, but who still have bills to pay themselves.
Lucky & Joy only opened a few months before Covid-19 hit the UK. Since March, we have been so proud to be part of this amazing community in Hackney. We are so grateful to the incredible people working at Homerton, and to those of you who have helped us to support them in the only way we know how: with good food
If you’d like to see how your money helped first time round, we were part of a documentary about how restaurants support key workers back in April: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCwnhWRr6Mc
Thank you and stay safe,
L&J
