The Cathedral's pipe organ was built and installed in 1884 and was at the time the finest and largest organ on the island.
Some work was done in 1973, and generally the instrument has lasted well for the 133 years or so!

However, the instrument is showing its age and is deteriorating at an alarming rate, emergency repairs have been costed at £5,750.00. The repairs are to the connections between the stops and the organ pipes, many of these connections no longer work. Your help is urgently needed to replace these connections with new so all the stops work.

If the instrument does not get the attention it requires, it will gradually fall silent and will become unusable.

The Peel community has so far donated £2, 450.00!

We appeal to friends and anyone who has attended the Cathedral for Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals to help us preserve this important piece of heritage and see it fit to enable the next generation of organists.
