South West Fishing for life is a charity (charity number 1157812) run by dedicated trustee's, qualified coaches and an essential band of volunteers for people suffering, recovering and living with Breast Cancer.
The techniques used in fly fishing has been proven to be very beneficial to build up tissue and muscle after treatment. Member's give each other valuable support, and many of them are invigorated by this new experience, giving them a new direction in life.
The fishing days are provided "free" and each group meets monthly. Fishing equipment is provided free of charge, should it be required. There are groups in many locations around the UK. Wimbleball, Exmoor. Kennick, Devon & Cornwall. Blagdon, Bristol. North West, Bolton and the Pennine's. Dorchester, Dorset (2). Hawkridge, Somerset. Gloucester/Worcester. North Devon and in Berkshire.
The money raised from the appeal will go directly towards new tackle and ancillary items for the groups, plus each groups running costs. The Charities website is www.southwestfishingforlife.org.uk
