Running a 10k and half Marathon. Why?? We’ve all seen the horrific images of people trying to flee conlict, war, human rights violation and persecution across the world. We’ve read about the camps and we’ve seen the devastation that families are trying to escape from.

Sometimes it seems almost impossible to help but you can do something now to help one family flee the atrocities and start a new life here, in North Wales.

I am fundraising for Croeso Menai. Croeso Menai is the first North Wales Community Group that is working towards bringing a family of refugees via the Government’s Community Sponsorship Scheme.

Community Sponsorship of Refugees is a fairly new initiative in Britain, It is based on the very successful scheme that has been running in Canada for over 25 years.

A number of communities in South and Mid Wales have brought refugee families into their midst but Croeso Menai is the first one in North Wales.

Being a community sponsor can bring enormous benefits to the local community, through the generosity of local people, and allowing different groups to become directly involved in helping refugees to begin new lives in the UK.

I am asking you to donate to my page and this will help resettle a family here, in our safe and beautiful North Wales.
