After 40 years of looking my son finally found the woman of his dreams through his church. She was a visiting youth minister from the Philippines. Within a few weeks of meeting they knew that God had brought them together and they made arrangements to get married. She returned a few months later and they were married here in the UK. After applying for a spouse visa they felt that God was telling them to relocate to his wifes country of the Philiippines. My son sold everything he had so they could make a new life there, not only to meet their needs but the needs of her family too...

After almost 8 years our son has had to return to the UK but his wife is still in the Philippines. He came back with nothing, no house, no car, no job, no money. He tried to get help via the DSS but was told they couldnt help for three months as he had been out of the country. Luckly we have a spare room so he could stay with us otherwise he would have been living homeless in the streets. It must be hard for a 50 year old man to have to live with his parents again, and relying us for financial support. After 2 weeks he managed to get a part time minimum wage cleaning job.

He then enquired about brining his wife to the UK and found that with the new immigration laws introducted in 2012 it is going to be impossible to bring her so they can live as man and wife again. You see to qualify he has to have £16000 savings & a job that pays £18600pa. As his part time joob only pays apx £7400 pa he has to have 2,5x the difference as additional saving also. Which now means he has to find over £43780. A man with a part time job and no assests he can sell means its impossible.

As pensioners ourselves we cant help him financially so we are appealing to anyone who can help him and his wife. Im sure you or someone you know has been in the same situation. Please help with a donation or a interest free loan of the money he needs (for apx 7 months)
