Story
Following a valiant 9 year battle with bowel cancer, our dad Peter died on 9th July 2024, aged 73.
At various times throughout his illness, he and his family were supported by the excellent staff from Macmillan, who do so much to help people with cancer and their families. We would like to send particular thanks to the staff in the Macmillan team at Addenbrookes hospital who helped us and Dad in the most difficult of times.
We are also extremely grateful to Sue Ryder St John's Hospice in Moggerhanger, where Dad spent his final days. The hospice allowed him dignity and comfort at such an important time, and meant he could be surrounded by his family in his final hours.
Given that Dad spent over three decades helping others as an NHS GP, it would be a fitting tribute to raise money in his memory to allow these two charities to continue their work supporting other families.
A donation of £25 funds an hour of specialist care at a Sue Ryder hospice; £34 funds a Macmillan nurse for one hour. We hope to raise £500 to split between the two charities.
If you would like to share with us your memories and photos of Peter, or would like to enquire about the date and location of his funeral, please email InMemoryOfPeter2024@gmail.com.
With thanks from Angie, Tracey, Jess and Mel.
