I've raised £3000 to adapt PETER YOUTHED's home for wheelchair use

In June 2017, my father Peter Youthed, was on holiday with my Mum in Spain celebrating his 60th birthday. Whilst he was taking a dip in the sea, he collapsed under the water. Nearby members of the public managed to lift him from the water where the lifeguards and local police took over to get him to the nearest hospital as quickly a possible. Once admitted, he was immediately placed in the intensive care unit where they found a bleed on his brain.
Whilst in Spain, Peter was in a coma for a month whilst they drained the blood from his brain and had two bouts of surgery to fit a shunt. The wonderful Spanish medical staff at Alicante hospital saved his life. He eventually flew home via air ambulance 8 weeks after the brain haemorrhage to continue his recovery in Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
In December 2017, after a period of rehabilitation and a couple of pneumonia scares, my Dad went home. The brain haemorrhage and has unfortunately left my Dad paralysed down his left-hand side and unable to walk.
He was a keen gardener before his accident, so we would like to be able to raise enough funds to build him a ramp so he can enjoy his garden and the summer sun this year. Living in a park home means that the steps down are fairly significant, so he currently doesn’t have access to the outside world. Should we be fortunate enough to have any funding left, we would put this towards adapting his bathroom in to a wet room.
Any contribution you can make, however big or small, will go a long way to helping Peter with a better quality of life in the future.
I will continue to post here on the how we are progressing towards the challenge, so check back in for updates.
With Love and Thanks
