Story

In April I'll be running the South Downs Way 50 mile Ultra marathon. This is a gruelling 50 mile race across (up and down) the South Downs Way from Worthing to Eastbourne.

I've decided to raise some money to support Finn's school teacher (Verity Grainger) get medical treatment for a very rare life shortening genetic condition, MNGIE. Verity needs to raise £500,000 for treatment.

MNGIE (mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalomyopathy) is an ultra-rare life-shortening genetic condition that blocks the production of a particular enzyme, causing a build-up of metabolites in the blood that damages mitochondria. So rare in fact, that there are only around 200 people documented to have the condition worldwide

Verity's husband Josh has a set up a page Main fundraising page with loads more detail around the condition and the impact it's having on their family.
