Story

In March I'll be running the 100 Hills 50 Ultra marathon. This is a gruelling 50KM route with 4000ft of climb through the heart of the Chiltern countryside.

I'm doing this to raise some money and awareness to support one of Finn and Jude's school teachers, Verity Grainger, and her sister to get medical treatment for a very rare and life shortening genetic condition, MNGIE. They need to raise £500,000 for treatment, urgently.

Most of you will know that I do like a little run now and then, however this is still a big challenge. I know times are tough but anything you can spare, even just a share of my page will help.

MNGIE (mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalomyopathy) is an ultra-rare life-shortening genetic condition that blocks the production of a particular enzyme, causing a build-up of metabolites in the blood that damages mitochondria. So rare in fact, that there are only around 200 people documented to have the condition worldwide

Verity's husband Josh has a set up a page Main fundraising page with loads more detail around the condition and the impact it's having on their family.
