Story

Phil has had Parkinson's for some time now and after undergoing numerous tests, he'll be having an operation to try and help with his condition. He currently struggles with normal dailly life and simple tasks because of his tremor. Due to not forefilling the critiera to have this done on the NHS, we have funded this ourselves, but we have got to the point where we need to ask for. help to raise the funds needed to support him through this DBS procedure and after care to assist his recovery and give him the quality of life that he deserves.
Funds will support Phil's care and any excess will be paid to Parkinsons UK.

Living with Parkinson's
Everyone's experience of living with Parkinson's is different, but there are lots of issues and challenges that are shared by many people with the condition.
People with Parkinson's don't have enough of the chemical dopamine because some of the nerve cells that make it have died.
We don't yet know exactly why people get Parkinson's, but researchers think it's a combination of genetic and environmental factors that cause the dopamine-producing nerve cells to die.

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a surgical procedure used to treat a variety of disabling neurological symptoms—most commonly the debilitating symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD), such as tremor, rigidity, stiffness, slowed movement, and walking problems.
