Philip was a dedicated Optometrist for 27 years and cared deeply for his patients. He would want to support this worthy cause North East Sight Matters who engage with sight-impaired children.

NESM are a professional not-for-profit Social Enterprise company with charitable objectives. They engage with sight-impaired children, young people, and their families who live in the North East and are run by an experienced team of specialists with a significant understanding of the needs of those living with sight loss.

~~~We are a not-for-profit company with charitable aims. Our directors, who all work in the sight imparment field have a significant understanding and years of experience so they can meticulously plan and develop our services alongside our members.

We do not receive any local authorrity funding and have to work hard to gain any grants. We can sell services and commit to reinvesting any profits into achieving our social objectives. Ours are to support children, young people and their families, especially through not exclusively those with sight impairment issues to improve their quality of life through the provision of valuable skills training, activities and events in order that they can become more independent and self-aware on their life’s journey.

We engage with sight-impaired children and young people and their families who live in the North East. The areas we cover include Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, Co. Durham, and Tees Valley.
