Story
100 miles in 24 hours - 14th June 2024
I'll get straight to the point, two colleagues at Tidyco have been suffering from cancer these past twelve months, both of whom have been under the care of the Cancer Services ward at Burton Hospital. I am raising money for Cancer Services so that they can carry on saving lives and offer the amazing care that my colleagues have received.
In order to raise money, I shall be covering 100 miles in 24 hours! Starting off at Warrington Bank Quay station and then finishing off in Shardlow, Derbyshire. People are more than welcome to come and join me as I make my way South. The route will be posted in due course.

2 months agoPlease see below for my latest100-mile update: - Gym work and strength and conditioning is going to plan and hopefully it will help on the day. - Saturday up 3.15am left just after 4am to run Lichfield to B’ham New Street. Completed the 17.5 miles in 3 hours - When I finished the run, I started to feel a lot of pain in my knee which I need to sort out urgently. - Planning to do a 50-75 mile cycle down the canal over Easter and also another 17-18 mile training run in a fortnight.

3 months agoDue to knee problems following my last outing down the canal I have had to postpone any long runs. Dean from HUUB has set up meetings with Professor Greg Whyte and Phil Rees who are all offering help with these issues. I now have different running shoes and Phil will be considering the potential for orthotic supports. Many thanks also to Dean Jackson at HUUB for the running gear he has supplied FOC! I am also getting continued support from Balls2 Marketing Ltd, University of Derby, Marketing Derby and of course Tidyco Ltd.

4 months agoPlease see below my latest update: 13/01/2024 A difficult training run/walk today as I was looking to cover the 25miles in the dark down the canal within the 6 hours. Up at 2am to start run at Fradley for 3am, temperature was around 1.5 degrees above freezing and the ground was muddy and slippy. Currently my left IT band is stopping me running at around 18 to 20 miles. Still completed the 25 miles about the six hour mark but I need to sort the knee/IT band issue ASAP.
