Story
Hello,
My name is Phil Jackson, I'm 56 years old and I've worked for Vaillant for 30 years. I live in Belper, Derbyshire with my wife Joanna, and our 2 dogs - Teddy and Lily.
In 2017, I was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma - a rare form of Bile duct cancer, which, at the time of diagnosis, had already spread to my liver.
On our 16th wedding anniversary, I was given 1 to 3 years to live, and told the cancer was inoperable. Luckily, we managed to find a surgeon who was willing to operate, and after major surgery and a round of chemotherapy, I was cancer free and back at work.
In 2020, our worst fears arose, we were given the news that the cancer had returned with 2 tumors in my liver. Since diagnosis, I've been medically advised that my best chance to beat the cancer is with a treatment called SIRT (Selective Internal Radiation Therapy), however, this isn't currently available through the NHS.
The only way to undergo this treatment is though private medical care, and due to high costs involved, I need help to raise money towards this opportunity. This is my best chance to spend many more quality years with my wife and family, and I'd like to ask for your help in sharing my story or donating towards my journey - every gesture is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Phil
