Story

Imagine being told on your 35th birthday that you have breast cancer. The first emotion is panic, then the questions begin..... Will I survive? How do I tell my son? Will I see him grow up? What will chemo be like? I've never had an operation, how much will it hurt? Those first few days/weeks were horrendous, everything goes through your head, but then you just kind of have to get on with it. However, nobody realises the financial strain that having cancer has on a family, from reduced wages to all the extras..... Travelling to and from appointments, car park charges, medical costs that aren't covered by the NHS, supportive underwear following operations, certain foods because others make you feel sick, wigs because you've lost your hair, makeup and fake eyelashes to try and make you feel feminine, bigger clothes because the medication has made you gain weight, the list is endless.
So we are fundraising to try and help us comfortably get through treatment, fingers are firmly crossed that we will get through it.
Lastly, we would love to take our 9 year old son to Barcelona. He has supported the football club for years and is always asking to go. He's obviously having a hard time of it at the moment and although he is being well supported by a local cancer charity, we feel he deserves a massive treat as soon as I am allowed to travel again. He's been scared at times and has needed mommy cuddles but on the whole he has been amazing and we are so proud of him.
Every penny will be gratefully received by a family in need.
