Story
This September, I’ll be taking part in the RunThrough Relays Manchester at Media City, alongside my wonderful work friends Katie and Charlotte. We're not just running for the challenge, we’re running to support a truly special family going through one of the toughest battles life can bring.
I met Beth through the South Manchester Amateur Operatics Society, and it’s hard to put into words just how incredible she is. Her warmth, positivity, and strength shine through in everything she does. When I heard what her family is currently facing, I knew I had to do something to help.
Her husband, Paul Abram, is a devoted father, husband, and son, who has recently been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) - a cruel and progressive illness that affects the brain and nerves, and currently has no cure. MND has already begun to impact Paul’s daily life, and as it progresses, the changes ahead will be immense.
Beth and Paul are raising a young family, and their home now needs to be adapted so that Paul can continue to live safely and comfortably in the months and years to come. Understandably, this puts enormous emotional and financial strain on the whole family.
Through this run, we’re raising funds to support the MND Association, which provides vital care, advocacy, and research, and to directly help the Abram family as they navigate this heartbreaking journey with courage and love.
If you’re able to donate, please know that every single contribution - no matter the size- will go a long way in helping this incredible family face the future with the dignity and support they deserve.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity!
