In the summer of 2018 before I go to university I want to participate in something amazing. I have decided I am going to go to Peru with Projects Abroad and get involved in a project for the conservation of the Amazon Rainforest.

While I would love to take a gap year before I go to university to do things like this, I have already lost a year of my education due to mental health problems so I do not want to delay university any longer. Therefore I hope to be in Peru for around 2-3 weeks (this will be decided nearer the time).

My role in this project will be researching birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and butterflies, feeding animals, helping with butterfly and turtle breeding programmes, growing crops and environmental education for the local community.
