Story

Survivors in North Somerset have been benefiting from the amazing domestic abuse services in the area for years. As publicised in the Weston, Worle and Somerset Mercury on Thursday 19th April 2018, they are now at risk and a new service provider is required by 31st May 2018 to ensure the smooth transition of the services.

Phoenix was set up by a group of survivors prior to this news to help support families in North Somerset affected by domestic abuse through fundraising and raising awareness.

Now more than ever it is vital that we fundraise and do what we can to help keep any of the services available that may get cut in the very near future.

The current local domestic abuse services offer Refuge, Outreach Support Workers, Independent Domestic Violence Advisors, Male Support Workers and Children’s Refuge Workers.

They also offer vital pattern changing courses that help people to gain confidence and rebuild their self-esteem after the devastation of domestic abuse. These courses also help to stop the cycle continue through the generations.

A weekly drop in service is also available for any women affected by domestic abuse in North Somerset to get the much needed professional and peer support.

Any money collected will go directly towards supporting families affected by domestic abuse in North Somerset.
