So, I'm raising money to help a good friend of mine, Charles, to access a hearing aid compatible Mobile phone.

Using a hearing aid with a Mobile phone isn't always difficult, but older Mobile phones interfere quite severely with the aid and result in chronic distortion and usually make the speech near to unintelligible.

Many aid users have taken to using Bluetooth enabled aids, but Bluetooth drains the battery and results in a shorter usage time.

Modern Mobile phones are available with built in hearing loops, making them compatible with the "T" setting.

The prices for these phones start at around £79 to £99 for basic models, up to £130+ for more advanced units.

Any money left over from the purchase (bearing in mind the minimum you can raise here is £200), will be donated to the reception unit at Highfield Special School in Ely.
