Story
Pilgrimage for Peace
In two weeks I will set out on a 500 mile Pilgrimage for Peace – walking in the name of hope, connection and change. This journey is not just about the miles on the road, but about carrying a vision: that art, ritual and story can open hearts and inspire dialogue where politics and power often fail.
Along the way I will perform the ancient mummers play Saint George and His Many Enemies – a folk tale of the holy wars and impossible battles. It is a play that exposes how deeply rooted conflict is in our history, and yet it offers a doorway into conversation, laughter and reflection. Through it I will meet strangers, create encounters, and bring people together to talk about peace.
I have applied to Arts Council England for funding, but with no answer yet and the walk about to begin, I need your help. If the funding comes through, every penny raised here will be given to charity. If it doesn’t, I must raise £2,000 to cover my basic bills and living costs during the pilgrimage – and everything beyond that will also go directly to charity.
This is a call to walk with me, even if only in spirit. To help carry the vision of peace from place to place. To show that art, ritual and community have power. Every donation, large or small, is a step on this path.
Step by step, we walk peace into being.
