We are a family of 6, which include myself, husband and four children who are aged from 3 to 13. We have recently been informed my our local council that they will no longer continue to assist our family and that we will be made street homeless and that the children will be taken into social care, unless we make our own housing arrangements. This has been due to us being deemed intentionally being made homeless after we refused an offer of being rehoused by the council 100's of miles from our home city. Based on this decision the council will either only continue paying 50% of our current rent and that we provide the other 50% from our own resources or we find somewhere else cheaper to live. As we reside in London, it is very difficult to find somewhere cheaper to live and we are now £7,000 in rent arrears and require an addional £750 per months from the maximum housing benefit we are being awarded to maintain the rent in this dwelling until we find something maybe more affordable within the area or and until my husband finds suitable employment. As we have all been born and brought up in this area and this is were all our memories of life, friends and family reside. Our children are also so happily settled here, particularly at their schools, it is therefore totally inconceivable for us to simply pack up and move somewhere many miles away to start a completely new life in another town alien to us all like Birmingham or further up North where housing is more affordable. Our landlord has obtained a court order for our eviction and we have less than 60 days to remain here, otherwise we will be legally removed by force and the children taken to social care, whilst me and my husband will be made street homeless, unless all the rent arrears are completely cleared. I am making a desperate and sincere plea to anyone who reads this message to donate whatever you can to help us raise money for our rent arrears to prevent this catastrophe...Please HELP...
