I've known Piotr Gruszecki since 1997, when we met at the university. Piotr's life dramatically changed in February 2025, when he was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioma, which is the most aggressive brain tumour, characterised by rapid growth and poor prognosis.

In March 2025 Piotr underwent a brain surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Unfortunately doctors then concluded, that they had exhausted all the options offered by the public healthcare system and the only remaining treatment is a private therapy called TT Fields. TTF therapy uses electrical fields to interrupt cancer cells' ability to spread. Although TTF therapy can be effective it is also extremely expensive.

Piotr started his TTF therapy in April 2026 but the cost of this treatment is approximately £20,000 per month and patients have to cover the full cost themselves.

Despite facing extreme personal and financial pressures Piotr is determined to live as normal life as possible to support his 3 children (the youngest is 7).

Please help me raise as much money as possible to delay Piotr cancer's growth so he can see his children become independent.

My first dare in this fundraising campaign is going to be the 'brave the shave' challenge, where I pledge to shave my hair as a sign of support and unity with Piotr and all other people, who bravely battle cancer.

My main challenge is to reach the top of Mount Snowdon in Wales, as climbing is a powerful metaphor for life's struggles. Please share and donate, as this is the real-life situation, when time is of the essence. Thank you!
