Story

Piotr Adamczak – emergency fund

On 7 January, Piotr was involved in a terrible road traffic accident and air ambulanced to Kings College Hospital London, where he remains in their dedicated professional care.

Defying medical predictions, his body has been brilliantly healing itself from the multiple injuries he sustained. However, after 14 hours of brain surgery, Piotr has not regained consciousness and will need hospital care and rehabilitation for many months to come.

Piotr’s family are desperate to be reunited from Poland to his hospital bedside and are hopeful that the additional stimulation of their presence will help with the recovery process. However this is proving very difficult due to Covid-19 restrictions and shortfall of funds. A lack of cashflow is adding to the family's grief and helplessness at an already impossibly difficult time.

To this end I have set-up this crowd-funding page to help Grazyna and Pawel, Piotr’s parents, to travel from Poland to England. Monies will be used to help with costs of mandatory Covid travel tests, flights, compulsory hotel isolation costs and accommodation so they can be near to Piotr. We are also looking to buy a phone or iPad so that messages/videos from family and friends can be relayed by the nursing staff. Particularly important as visitors are extremely limited and Piotr's therapist has said how useful it would be for Piotr to be able to hear from his many well wishers.

All contributions, no matter how small, are warmly welcomed.

Sending enormous gratitude and thanks

Marcin, Grazyna, Pawel and Jane
