    Story

    Saving Pip's legs

Pipa was one of three little kittens found at the back of our garden on the green recycling tip. Very brave little girl, as she used to hunt and feed the other two kittens. We used to see her mum walking about, but certainly abandoned the kittens at a very young stage. Well, we have rescued them and they live very happy nowadays at our house. Last Year, on a cold November morning, we have received a phone call from our neighbour saying that our Pipa has been found laying under a hedge by a neighbours' dog. They put her in a box and we took her immediately to emergency opening ours, as it was a Sunday morning and vets weren't open. Pipa was cold, scared and we did not know how badly affected Pipa was. At the Bury St. Edmunds Vet Pipa was seen by the Vet straight away and we were told that according to X-Rays she did not break anything, but her legs were in a bad state. So Pipa stayed almost a week recovering from the huge shock she had and vet Bills have started to soar. We did not have Pet Insurance. Pipa was then recommended to see a Specialist Vet in Newmarket. Pipa was put through a Pet Scan and this alone costed £ 3.000. Then treatment, staff looking after her overnight, medication all came to around £5.000. Later on when Pipa was already home her tail started to become inflamed and the vet said it had to be amputated. So first, a tail operation, then one of her back legs was very stiff and did not recover with physio. So this leg was amputated, and the remaining hinder leg is not working 100%, and not supporting her back when walking about. Pipa goes out in the garden, hopping and negotiating steps with the remaining leg, but Pipa would need further physio to be able to fully use the hinder leg remaining. Physiotherapy sessions cost around £ 60, and we don't have these amounts to be able to help her live a good quality of life. So I would like to ask You to help us with any donations possible, please. I thank You all in advance and I hope I can still help Pipa to live a good quality cat life.
