Story
At the end of August, George and I will be running a marathon in Iceland. After months of training, I can confidently say I'm still not a huge fan of running, and this will probably be the hardest thing I've ever done physically!
What will make it worthwhile is raising money for Pariah, an incredible dog sanctuary in Koh Samui, Thailand.
Pariah is run by Nikki, whose dedication to the dogs is nothing short of inspiring. She works tirelessly to give every dog the best possible chance at a happy future, focusing on training, confidence-building, enrichment, and preparing them for life in a forever home. I've been volunteering there for the past three years, and the transformation in both the dogs and the sanctuary has been amazing to witness. Anyone who visits more than once immediately notices how much happier, calmer, and more fulfilled the dogs are.
The reason this fundraiser means so much to me is not just because of what Pariah does for the dogs, but because of what it has done for me. Through volunteering, I've received invaluable support and training that has helped me better understand dog behaviour, build trust with nervous dogs, and improve my own work grooming street dogs. The skills and confidence I've gained have had a huge impact on my life.
I'd love the opportunity to give something back to a place that has given me so much. There aren't many things that could make running 26.2 miles seem worth it, but helping Nikki and the dogs at Pariah is definitely one of them.
Thank you so much for any donation, no matter the size. Every contribution will make a difference, and I'll keep everyone updated on our training and the big day itself. ❤️
