Weʼre raising £7,000 to fund the Planet Purbeck Festival 20th-26th Sept 2021

Purbeck, Dorset

Don't have time to donate right now?

Planet Purbeck is holding a festival to show and grow our two core missions – to protect and enhance the stunning natural world of Purbeck while addressing the global challenge posed by the climate and ecological emergency.

We are an umbrella organisation for all the many and varied environmental groups across Purbeck, because we believe we are all stronger together.

We also believe our festival, run by the community for the community, mixing fun with inspiration, is the best way to engage the largest volume of people. Because everybody loves a festival…

We have asked groups, organisations, businesses and individuals across the area to stage events for all-comers to enjoy – some light-hearted, some a little more serious but all with an environmental twist to peak more interest in the natural and endangered world around us.

The response has been fantastic. More than 60 events are already on the schedule for the week-long festival, with many more expected before it kicks off on September 20th!

There will be wildlife walks, mini film festival, expert talks, rockpool rambles, LIVE music, photo competitions, river trips, wildlife conference, beach yoga, art workshops, forest bathing, orienteering, food, drink, music, a children’s parade and a host of other surprise activities.

But all of the wonderful people staging these events need help to make sure they run smoothly and successfully. We will do our utmost to support them. But, as we all know, the time and effort required often needs financial assistance.

And this is where YOU come in....

Please donate what you can to make sure the festival – our first – is a roaring success. Not just for its own sake but, in the longer term, to make Purbeck a cleaner, happier, healthier place in which everyone, residents and valued visitors alike, can enjoy its natural splendour and amazing biodiversity.

And, above all, to safeguard and enhance the future of our children and grandchildren.

The Talbot Village Trust have generously donated £18,000 so we just need an extra £7,000 to make the festival happen. Thank you Talbot Village Trust!

So what will the money be spent on?

Banners, venue hire, posters, flyers, signage, equipment, professional fees, insurance, resources for activities, advertising, speakers expenses, entertainment and funds to support the activities of community groups across Purbeck!

Thank you for reading and for your donation

Check out our website for more info:

Look forward to seeing you at the Festival!
