We are Jonny and Mels and we have a dream. It’s called PlanetWell, it is a social enterprise set up to bring sustainable, planet-friendly therapeutic services to the people of Norfolk. Why? Because we have over 40 years combined experience working with families, because 3 children in every classroom have a diagnosed mental health condition, because waiting lists for services are months to years long, because families are crying out for help and people are in crisis with no support. What have we done so far to bring PlanetWell to conception? Since 2017 Mels has been training to become a play therapist – she is nearly there, Jonny gralloched himself on a doctorate in London and then became a trauma informed practitioner, we both attended an 8 week course on becoming a social enterprise and grant funding. In 2019 as a family of 6, we committed whole heartedly to sustainable family life by jumping into ‘tiny living’ in the form of our two bedroom flat.

Despite lots of planning, ideas generating, volunteer work, clinical training and commitment to the shift to sustainability, something was missing and now.. we think we have found it – it is a premises, a kitchen, a meeting room, a venue, a therapy space, a carbon-miles saver, it is…. A former mobile library ripe for the modifying – think play bus, come food truck, come community outreach service, one stop shop.

We are very excited – it’s on ebay – it’s on live bidding closing Monday and we would love to have a go at winning this little beauty to trundle our services to the far corners of north Norfolk, bringing support right to the very doors of the people in crisis. We are asking you if you would like to back us on this venture, we would be deeply delighted if you felt there was any funding you could add to our pot to make our dream bus become the vehicle to bring PlanetWell to life.

!!PlanetWell vehicle update!! By some complete stroke of luck, unbelievably the auction for the ex-mobile library (XML) was won by us!! Our group effort (plus a little extra, but we are leaving the page open for those who have expressed a desire to support) won on the day! We are still in shock, as the seller and I talked about the worth being far higher than our winning bid of £5911. So now, as the shock subsides the catalogue of logistics for a first time HGV owner is being worked through. Jonny has his HGV medical, then a driving course, then the HGV test to complete. But currently progress has been made with finding a home for our XML, (many thanks to David Alston at Alby crafts) and she (traditional possessive pronoun) will be delivered next week (I'll post exact time for any of you that might be free to clap her in).
