I've raised £500 to help pay for the care of the 600 animals at Fiona Oakes Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary

Bolton Ironman, full distance HILLY Triathlon, Sunday 3 July 2022.
2.4 mile Swim/112 mile Bike /26.2 mile Run (yes it really does finish with a full marathon) all in under 17hrs, ouch! (I have paid the entry fee myself and all donations will go to the sanctuary, a non-profit organisation)
Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary
The sanctuary has just grown to over 600 animals spanning across 6 yards. Whether they be retired race horses, ex-fighting dogs, or neglected and abused farm animals, they all are given love, respect, medical care and a peaceful place to live at THS.

History, from couch to Ironman
Back in 2015 my beloved cat Orson got into a fight, lost territory and left home. Distraught, the then quite overweight, heavy smoker of 20 years began to jog, figuring I could cover more ground if only I moved a bit faster, I jogged, spluttered, wheezed and eventually ran, every day, as often as I could for a number of weeks before eventually finding him living in a local field. I had found him by running. Inspired to change the negative habits I'd found myself perpetuating I made some choices, I gave up smoking and set off on a path of both fitness and veganism. It changed my life completely.
I have entered what to me is a HUGE challenge and honestly don't know if I can do it but I am completely committed to training for this in earnest and raising as much as possible for my two chosen causes.

I have created a training blog where you can follow my training and sweaty red faced ramblings as I do my best to earn your donations.
