I've raised £200 to Help get our Platform YP students the opportunity to perform You're A Good Man Charlie Brown in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival - August 2018!

Platform YP is a Theatre School in Wokingham. In August 2018 our students have the amazing opportunity to experience performing in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the worlds largest Arts Festival!
I am relatively new to the Platform team and I can honestly say there is something very exciting about working here. The first thing that I noticed when I first taught here in October 2017 was not only were these students hugely talented but they had a professionalism beyond their years and they were just genuinely lovely which is a huge credit to Tracey Eley founder of Platform YP! I was invited to see the senior showcase in January ahead of me joining the team as a Musical Theatre teacher. I went by myself and from the minute I walked into the foyer ahead of the show, I was welcomed by parents of the students who were helping selling tickets and refreshments. I spoke with so many people and felt completely at ease and that is when I saw that Platform YP is not just a theatre school...its a family!
So now this is where we need your help!! We have 18 students aged 12-19 taking part in The Fringe and it is costing a total of £15,000 including flights, accommodation, transportation, theater hire etc etc. The families of the children involved have been fantastic and contributed £9,000. Of the remaining £6,000 Platform students and staff have held many fundraisers and we have reached £5,400 which leaves us with just £600 left to raise! Being new to the team and unable to attend the week in Edinburgh, due to previous work commitments, I want to show my support to these amazing students so I am running the Bracknell Half Marathon in the hope of raising a target of £200! At the start of this year I had never ran further than 5km (3.2 miles) so to do a half Marathon (21km/13 miles) in MAY (argh!!!) Is a huge challenge to me! So to have your support would mean so much!
I'll stop waffling now! :o)
