Story
Play and Grow are a small charity with big aspirations! We would like to not only send toys to the underprivileged in different parts of the world but to do so by funding Playgroup leaders who will help nurture the children's development through play.
How do we know there's a need? Well I recently visited Zambia and was spending time with family when I was struck by the absence of structure and stimulation for a number of the children. No routine naptime, no toys, no singing of nursery rhymes!
.
I had to do something but what? A toy for a toddler would be lovely but wouldn't be a solution. What they needed was a free, routine group, lead by a trained professional where they could play and grow...they needed a playgroup. And alas! Play and Grow was born.
The Playgroup would allow preschoolers in local communities to come together to learn through play, stimulated by toys and adult and child interaction. The Playgroup would also serve parents, providing them regular opportunities to meet as well as having access to professional advice about child development.
Toy and book donations to the Playgroups will not only be used by the children who visit the groups, but the Playgroup will also serve as a toy and book library, so that the children can continue to PLAY AND GROW at home.
But we cannot do it without your help and support. Please join us in building up the children of the future!
