I've raised £15000 to fill our village's first ever play ground/community area with lots of exciting things for the children to enjoy.

PLEASE NOTE: WE HAVE RAISED MONEY AND WON GRANTS THAT ARE NOT SHOWN HERE ON JUSTGIVING - IN TOTAL, £10,000!! SO 'JUST' £5,000 MORE TO RAISE.
Rothersthorpe is a small Northamptonshire village with no playground or outside community space for the children that live there to spend time in. There has never been the space for it. For some years the children used the school playing field, this worked, until, for Health & Safety reasons, the field had to be secured outside of school hours.
5 years later, and we now do have a field, thanks to the lovely Mrs JG Dickens and Mr PJ Dickens, who gave a piece of their land to the village.
Its not the easiest field to get to as access is a 1 minute walk down a road that is not safe for children. For the last few years we have been in talks with the council about getting a path built that will run down the side of this road to the field and it FINALLY GOT DONE in February this year! :-)
Villagers are creating the path in the field that will lead from the field entrance to the enclosed play area. We have £9,600 from WNC that has been granted specifically for the safety fencing and gates that will go around the play area.
We have about £42,000 in the Dickens Field Trust bank account to spend on the play equipment, £15,000 short of being able to install the WHOLE of the planned play area in ONE go.
It is so exciting to be close to having the first play space in our village ever! If all goes to plan we may have it all set up for the summer holidays.
Please help us to make a big difference to a little village. All support is welcome!
