    Story

Hi I’m Sean, I’m 22 years old, I’ve lived here in the UK for over 16 years & I came here at the age of 5 from Zimbabwe. I’ve lived here ever since, I’ve been brought up through the education system, all my family, immediate and extended all live here. I’ve made all my friends here & I’ve only ever worked here.

Me and my family have had issues with getting settlement in this country. Back in 2007 we were granted indefinite leave to remain only for the decision to be withdrawn shortly.

Instead we were given 3x3 of discretionary leave in this country before we could apply for indefinite. Our final year was this year in May and we had to apply again because our stay is coming to an end. I was young and unaware of all this at the time & they have rules where if you’re over the age of 18, you have to make your own application so I’ve had to make my own.

Back then you didn’t have to pay anything if you were granted leave but earlier this year the Home Office introduced fees you have to pay if you were to apply for settlement and for them to even consider your application. The fee is over £2300.

I’m not the only one in my family who has to pay this, each of us have to pay and there are 4 of us which would mean £2300 x 4.

This kind of money isn’t available as I do not earn enough & it was such a short notice to save up £2300 so I’m doing everything I can to raise this fee for myself.

If I fail to pay this then I run the risk of overstaying my welcome in the country which would be illegal & therefore I’d be removed as a result (deportation).

I work for Huddersfield Town Football club, I’ve worked there since I was 17 & I love the place.

I applied for the fee to be waived but I didn’t qualify and the Home Office has given me 14 days (8 by the time this campaign is up) to pay the fee or my application will be rejected as invalid.

So, I’m kindly asking for anyone who sees this campaign to please help me out in whatever you can, I can’t afford to get removed out of the country, I’ve been here all my life, I’ve grown up here, it’s all I know.

    Thank you
