Plymouth Bissary Aid Project visits a rural part of The Gambia Western Africa, where the team work closely with the local schools, football club and Provide a medical service.

Whilst we are volunteers for Plymouth Bissary Aid Project we provide a fully qualified medical team which can consist of Nurses , Paramedics, Health Care Assistants and first aiders to work along side the Health Care Professionals to achieve the best out come for our patients. On average the health centre team see approximately 1500 patients per visit.

Whilst our main aim is to provide a medical service to the village we also work with the local schools in many different ways by teaching them the English language also we assist them by providing them with stationary which we have been donated.

One of the local villagers in the Gambia which assists the medical team has been able to engage the local villagers into becoming a football team which has become a great success as this is assisted by one of the Plymouth Bissary Aid Volunteers as they have been able to provide the football team with lots of equipment which has been donated to the project along with purchasing the football goal posts which was manufactured in the Gambia providing the individual some work which is not easy to get.
