Weʼve raised £550 to make Polecat Lane, the muddy byway between Silver Street and Flexford Lane, useable for cyclists, walkers and horse riders.

    Hordle, United Kingdom
    Time left
Funded on Friday, 13th January 2017

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is the new way to raise money for a personal cause on JustGiving.

    Story

Polecat Lane, the byway between Flexford Lane and Silver Street is not a route for the faint-hearted.

Lost wellies, broken bike chains, and potentially causing injury to horses, the mud that makes this route impassable for most of the year is not just dirty, it's dangerous.

Walkers, cyclists, horse-riders, and those using the route to reach the school or red bus are all affected.

The expected cost is £10,000 and we aim to receive funding from the National Park, Hampshire County Council Rights of Way and local parish but at least £2500 will need to be raised so please give generously.

Our application for £7500 in funding is due in on 21st January so if we can raise the £2500 before then that would be amazing!

I'm a local resident and having had a horse cut an artery when trying to get through mud at Polecat Lane I am conscious of the risk using the byway poses. I've also met walkers, cyclists and school children trying to reach the bus stop all stuck in the mud so lets club together!
