Hi! Thanks for taking the time to look at our page!
This summer, 7th- 11th June, Chatsworth house will host it's first Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show opening with the theme 'Design Revolutionaries'.
We are happy to be exhibiting our garden, 'The Path of Least Resistance' at this new show. Our installation will feature the often overlooked plant species that inhabit our modern cities providing valuable habitat, colour and beauty to sometimes desolate landscapes. As designers we are interested in the visual qualities of the rogue and pioneering plants commonly found in urban areas, but also in their strength and versatility. What can we learn from these species and how can we apply this knowledge when designing sustainable and resilient gardens for the future?
We aim to not only highlight the importance of natural spaces in our urban environments; but also to create a garden that encourages people to re-think traditional design and the use of conventional materials, raising awareness and inspiring positive change.
So why do we need your help??
We are a small team of Landscape Architect students running an independent project, so are raising all of our own funds. By design, our garden is low cost, using reclaimed materials where possible, however there are some things in this life that money must buy!
We have constructed our sculptures, raided numerous piles of unwanted rubble and spent weeks growing a large proportion of our plants.
Now we need to get it, and us there all in one piece.
The funds we are in need of will pay for printed marketing material, transport hire and accommodation. With your help the show will go on and we can go forth and tell the story of the humble and resilient 'weed'.
Thanks,
Frankie, Zuzanna and Tom x

Path of Least Resistance
7 years agoA big thank-you to everyone that supported our project! The show was a huge success and our design and concept was received well. We are all overwhelmed by everyone's generosity and kindness. We wouldn't have made it without you! For those of you that don't know we received a couple of big sponsors aside from the crowd funding and made our target. :)
