Story
Race mechanic Peter and student midwife Laura are restoring a 30 year old Polski Fiat for StarterMotor, driving it 10,000 miles around Europe and raising much needed funds for the charity.
StarterMotor educates young people in the use and maintenance of historic vehicles and in helping the next generation of enthusiasts into historic motoring and rallying. Based at Bicester Heritage, they work in partnership with colleges, apprenticeships and like minded companies with the aim of providing historical vehicle access to young enthusiasts giving the opportunity to drive, maintain and experience our motoring heritage.
Led by Chairman Adrian Shooter, the charity runs a fleet of classic vehicles from across the decades which are available for students and apprentices to work on and learn the valuable heritage skills but also use and experience driving these vehicles on events.
This Polski Fiat, was donated by Brightwells to StarterMotor and it had not been used for 5 years. Peter quickly got it up and running, although there is still work to be done before the car is safe and reliable. Peter and Laura will then take this classic car on an epic maiden voyage a 10,000 mile journey through 20 countries. Once returned from the Polski Pilgrimage, the car will be re-prepared and ready for the next adventure so to become the go-to classic rally car for StarterMotor.
Laura and Peter must have the mechanical skills and tenacity to take a non-running affordable classic car with a peculiar history on this epic maiden voyage. All funds raised will go to StarterMotor.
