This September, I’m walking 100 miles to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Drop-In Club, a local charity based in Stone that has been a vital support for people living with Alzheimer’s and their families.

The Drop-In Club provides a welcoming, friendly space for those affected by Alzheimer’s. It’s completely free of charge and offers much more than just a cup of tea, coffee, and biscuits. They bring in entertainment like singers and dancers, run games and activities, and most importantly – they offer connection, understanding, and a place to feel less alone.

This cause is very close to my heart. My Gran and Grandad attended the club for many years right up until my Gran passed away in 2018 with this awful disease. It gave my Gran joy, companionship, and the chance to be herself in a space full of understanding. It also gave my Grandad the opportunity to speak with others who truly understood what he was going through. The club supported both of them in ways that words can’t fully express.

By walking 100 miles, I hope to raise funds to help the club continue the amazing work they do – providing comfort, joy, and community to so many. I will update my progress on this page and log my miles using the Strava App.
