Story
After losing both Grandads within 14 months of each other, I have decided to run the Great Eastern half marathon on Sunday 16th Oct (in Peterborough) in their memory and to raise money for the brilliant charities that helped them and us through very tough times.
Pops passed away in Oct 2020, to cancer. Not wanting to go into a hospice, we came across the charity Arthur Rank hospice which is a hospice at home charity. Caring for Pops and the family in his final few weeks and days, it made the heartbreaking ride just a little bit smoother. This service is provided to everyone free of charge.
Grandad passed away in Dec 2021 after being diagnosed very late into the illness with Motor Neurones disease in July 2021. He deteriorated extremely fast, it is the most horrendous condition to watch a loved one battle through. The Cambridgeshire branch of MND is run entirely on volunteers and relies solely on donations and fund raising to keep it afloat. They were always just a phone call away and really helped with the final few months and weeks at such a difficult time.
All money raised will be split evenly between Arthur Rank Hospice and MND Cambridgeshire. Every penny raised will help someone in need and make their journey just a little bit easier.
Thank you all
