Story

Thank you to everyone who has donated to sponsor a postivity pack so far in 2017. This year I’m looking to continue to help support a great cause by putting together more sponsored Positivity Packs that will be given to woman who are dealing with Breast Cancer. So far for 2018 we have received enough sponsorship to donate 15 positivity packs.

For the month of March I‘m taking part in 10,000 steps a day for cancer and all money raised will go towards putting postivity packs.

The packs will be distributed to a local charity Breast Friends who support women going through chemo and radiotherapy in Northampton and surrounding areas.

A message from Breast Friends Northampton:

We provide emotional and practical support through our monthly meetings, Wellbeing events, wellbeing walks, surgery pillows & drain bags and Chemotherapy kit bags.

We were really excited recently when Samantha donated some gorgeous ‘Positivity Packs’ to Breast Friends Northampton. The items are not only lovely but quality, practical products that can really make a difference to someone going through treatment.

We chose to give these Positivity Packs to our members going through Radiotherapy for Breast Cancer.

Why?

Often people compare treatments as easier but they are not easier, just different.

Radiotherapy is relentless, often a patient will have to go every week day for 4-6 weeks.

Side effects can be short term and long term including skin sensitivity and damage, swelling, pain, lymphedema, sore throat, muscular aches, severe tiredness and fatigue.

Radiotherapy usually comes at the end of the active treatment plan when a member has possibly had to endure many emotional and physical challenges including a breast cancer diagnosis, surgery and possibly chemotherapy. These Positivity Packs can lift a person for the next stage of their treatment providing them not only practical items to help alleviate and possibly heal side effects but also offer comfort and kindness at a difficult time.

Thank you from all of us at Breast Friends Northampton for all of your kindness and support ❤️👭
