Story
Lest we forget those who gave us today
The plight of many elderly folk in South Africa is that they are struggling to survive as some live in garages or squatter camps and cannot even afford a good wholesome meal. Potchefstroom Service Centre for the Aged (Potch Dienssentrum) provides essential physical, medical, social and spiritual services to the elderly that enables the elderly to function independently and actively in the community for as long as possible, by housing and feeding such folk, but the need continues to grow and the funds get spread very thinly to cover such services.
Potch Dienssentrum, as it is fondly known in the local lingo, is situated about 70 miles South West of Johannesburg, South Africa, and does amazing work in the Potchefstroom community, however, like many such organisations in South Africa, it is reliant on donations from people like youself and me to keep the services running.
They are in urgent need of medical equipment such as AED's, ear irrigation, security camera's, etc.; but they also need funds for fuel and food ensuring that the meals on wheels are delivered and the elderly get that nutritious meal daily.
I have personally have known this organisation for 30 years and is a vital support system for all the elderly folk in the community. A tiny percentage of funding is obtained from the state while the rest is obtained through fund raising campaigns.
I ask for your help in raising funds for food, fuel, medical and other equipment, ensuring a continuous support and that they are never forgotten,
Thank you for for generosity and care and please have a look at their website, it is in Afrikaans ,but can be translated in Google.
