Story

Myself, Charlie & Char have decided to dust off our running shoes to run 5K to raise money for a great girl, and Char's best friend Porge, who is currently battling Leukaemia.

As you may or may not know, Georgia (Porge) Bryant has been fighting a battle against Leukaemia for the last year. During her fight she has endured numerous rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a bone marrow transplant in an attempt to rid her of the disease. However, Porge had recently discovered that her treatment had failed. Luckily Porge has been accepted onto a clinical trial as her last hope, however for the trial to succeed Porge needs a course of treatment that is not funded by the NHS.

Porge has so far managed to raise a whopping £135k out of her £150k target but now needs all the help to fund the remaining treatments that are keeping her alive whilst she is on the clinical trial.

And this is where we come in. Whilst these days a 5K is seen as something people do as warm up for their ultra-marathons, those of you who know us, and especially myself personally, will know that the last time I ran anywhere was to catch a bus, and that was about 10 years ago. And so in the last few weeks, we have been starting from scratch, pushing ourselves off the sofa, through this heat, even training on our summer holidays.

And now we ask for your help. Please sponsor us, however small, as we run this Sunday 8th July, safe in the knowledge that it will be 5K of us pushing ourselves far outside our comfort limits but all for a great cause.
