Until 15th July 2017 - both the most terrifying and most wonderful day of our lives so far - I never even knew this charity existed. Giving birth to our incredible son 13 weeks early, it was and still remains a very frightening time for us as a family as he strives to get better. Whilst he is fighting away in the Trevor Mann Baby Unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, this amazing charity has given us a home so we can stay right by his side whilst we all go through the most testing time of our lives so far.

It literally is a home away from home, positioned opposite the hospital meaning I can get to him in just a few minutes whenever I need or want to. Our real home is 45 minutes away, and until we can take little Remy there, the team at Ronald McDonald House Brighton have given us both a roof over our heads next to our son, and so much support. It really is a little family of its own here with a bunch of anxious parents all going through similar experiences, and the wonderful house team look after all of us. They have made a very testing and stressful time so much easier and I cannot thank them enough.

I keep being asked by friends and family how they can help - please please, if you can spare a few pennies, please donate here to the Ronald McDonald House Brighton so other mums and dads can stay together as a family when their little one(s) arrive unexpectedly. They always need supplies for the house and my personal mission is to provide a breast pump, microwave for sterilising and fridge for refrigerating milk for every preemie mum so there is no need to have to leave your room in the middle of the night. When you're expressing every three hours for your little one, these are essential items! Please help us hit this target and help make life that little bit easier for other mums like me to babies born too soon.
